The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing violence and madness with similar excitement, all while telling gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose work have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a new setting and group of personalities in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant trust and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the core of people through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, visionary approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
