The Porcine Pardon: Pig Named 6-7 Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.

While perhaps not at the identical stature as sparing holiday birds, but the mayor of Miami-Dade experienced a presidential-style act this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the core of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She deserves this act of mercy. Her criminal record is spotless,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the vast quantity of pardons issued from the start of the onset of a current administration.

“If we disregard eating six or seven apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “May this pig enjoy a prosperous future free from concern.”

The event, which both honors and questions the region’s Hispanic tradition of feasting on pork during the holidays, was founded to replicate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The swine, provided by a local firefighter, was christened after the popular vernacular phrase of young people yelling “6-7” – inspired by a hip-hop line – often seemingly at random. The phrase became so ubiquitous that a prominent word reference recently named “six-seven” its top term for the year.

A Peaceful Retirement

This particular pig is now set to enjoy its days at a farm sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The pig pardon has become a cherished method to begin the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a decidedly positive message.

“It captures the spirit of Miami: vibrant, diverse, and based in heritage that foster togetherness. Each year, we are proud to celebrate heritage and mercy in a way only Miami can.”

Guests enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach fritters and cafecito as they marked Six Seven’s big moment.
