New England matched their longest winning run from the Tom Brady era as they defeated AFC East rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the first time since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

QB Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win increases the New England's advantage at the top of the AFC East as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets bottom after falling to two wins and eight losses

The Jets had scored first at their home field with QB Justin Fields running in a five-yard TD to cap the New York's initial series

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as the rookie scored two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on the rookie. "He wants to be great."

Fields threw to Metchie in the latter part of the third period to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the victory
