More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced spending more time together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "any day without mirth".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order placed a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

Following the tragedy, public personalities shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing divisive statements that were widely condemned by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan described the statements as "shocking" and implied they demonstrated a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an aide could have acted when the choice to comment on the death was made.
