🔗 Share this article Alexander Isak Robbers Ordered to Pay Only £1 Per Person from £1.2m Thefts Giacomo Nikolov confessed to participating in the burglaries Individuals of an Italy-based family of thieves who stole over £1.2m worth of goods, among them from former Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, have been mandated to return just £1 each. Brothers Valentino and Giacomo Nikolov, their female sibling Jela Jovanovic and her child Charlie Jovanovic journeyed to the north-east of England to burgle three houses in spring 2024. The group of four were jailed for from six and 10 years in May 2025. At a criminal assets hearing at the court, Jela and the Nikolov brothers were ordered to pay back £1 each while Charlie Jovanovic must pay over a thousand pounds. Particulars of the Burglaries The court previously heard the gang arrived by boat in the UK on March 27, 2024 and used a RV as their "headquarters", which they stationed at Scotch Corner and Durham service stations while utilizing a separate vehicle to scout out properties and execute burglaries. On March 31 they stole over £1m of goods such as high-end fashion, purses, jewellery and a CBE medal from a house on a street in Jesmond, Newcastle, while the owners were away. Valentino was the only one of the group to deny burglary but was found guilty by the jury The next evening, the crew entered a home on a private road in Whitburn, South Tyneside, and stole luxury bags, valuables and footwear valued at over £100,000. Following surveillance of the football club's facility for two days, they then acted at the home of Sweden player Alexander Isak in Darras Hall on 4 April, taking ten thousand pounds in money, sixty-eight thousand pounds worth of jewelry and the striker's one hundred twenty thousand pound luxury car. The group, who were portrayed by prosecutors as experienced touring thieves, used hand coverings and masks, switched their mobile devices on silent as they approached their targets and attached a number plate, which had been stolen from a garage in a town, on to their vehicle with elastic bands. They were apprehended in the Birmingham on April 13.
