Actor Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Narrating Disputed Covid Documentary

Liam Neeson has lent his narration to a new documentary that questions the efficacy of vaccinations and praises one-time cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Film's Provocative Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a bestselling book co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The book's writing partner, a producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone figure a known commentator. Heckenlively wrote online praising Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Statement

Representatives for Neeson have provided a response pushing back against suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine views.

"Many understand that corruption can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his enduring support for public-health initiatives."

The statement continued that the star had no hand in the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its claims are best addressed to the creators.

Central Themes Within the Documentary

In the film, the script read by Neeson makes several provocative claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "medical science has become dangerously politicized."
  • RFK Jr is shown stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • The narration takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Concerning the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Historical Background and Ongoing Disputes

The film further cites a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a formal apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Recently, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, even with a new report from the WHO confirming no evidence has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Contrasting the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the end of our story. It is the start of a fresh chapter."
