The new appointee takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' underwhelming early showing last fall.

On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer notified team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which emphasized that early feedback sessions had revealed the need for a clearer vision.

The president stated that the developers is now reimagining Project Ethos with a refreshed vision, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.

Trend of Strategic Hires

This announcement follows a similar move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to contribute to the BioShock development group.

The community feedback from last autumn’s the game demo was enlightening. It affirmed the promise of a action-packed game but made clear we still had improvements to make. It highlighted the requirement for a more distinct vision.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve come. You took the input to mind and revamped Project ETHOS with a revitalized goal - one that’s ready to fulfill its promise to our players.

Our confidence in this project strengthens every day. To boost the remarkable development you’ve made, It is a pleasure to announce the new hire as the new Studio Head of the team. Following several months of talks, Ben officially joins us on the specified date.

His guidance and background in the competitive gaming field is vast, having dedicated the past decade and a half developing and overseeing some of the most popular titles in the industry, such as the acclaimed shooter, and lately, Apex Legends.
